Pengaruh Media Word Search terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam di Kelas III Sekolah Dasar Negeri 106153 Klambir Lima

Abstract
Learning media play a strategic role in enhancing the effectiveness of classroom instruction, particularly in elementary science education where students often experience boredom due to limited variation in teaching methods and instructional media. This study investigates the effect of word search learning media on students’ learning outcomes in science for third-grade students at State Elementary School 106153 Klambir Lima. Employing a quantitative experimental research design, the study compared an experimental group taught using a lecture method supported by word search media with a control group receiving conventional instruction. Data were analyzed using the Two Independent Samples t-Test to examine differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results reveal a statistically significant difference in achievement, with the experimental group attaining a mean score of 87.5, substantially higher than the control group’s mean score of 70.7. Prior to the intervention, students’ learning outcomes were categorized as moderate, with a pre-test mean of 60, whereas post-test results indicated a marked improvement, with scores ranging from 75 to 100. These findings demonstrate that the integration of word search media significantly enhances students’ science learning outcomes. The study concludes that the use of interactive learning media can effectively improve student engagement and academic achievement in elementary science classrooms.
