Respon Pertumbuhan dan Hasil Tanaman Legume yang Ditumpangsari dengan Jagung pada Jarak Tanam Berbeda

Abstract
One way to increase the growth and yield of legumes is through intercropping with corn plants. This study aims to determine the effect of plant spacing in intercropping systems on the growth and yield of legume crops. The research was conducted in Banguntapan experimental garden and Laboratory of Crop Management. The research was designed using a randomized complete factorial design. The first factor was planting distance and second factor was the type of legume plants, namely groundnut and mungbean. The results showed that spacing significantly affected the values of leaf area, PGR, crown dry weight, number of pods per plant, and 100 g seed weight. The optimal planting distance for corn-mung bean intercropping is 125 cm x 25 cm, while the optimal planting distance for corn-groundnut intercropping is 75 cm x 25 cm. Thus, the intercropping system is considered effective to maximize legume and maize production through proper spacing.
