“#KABURAJADULU” sebagai Simbol Disonansi Komunikasi Pemerintah dan Generasi Z

Abstract
This study analyzes the symbolic meaning of the viral hashtag #KaburAjaDulu (“Just Run Away First”), which circulated widely across Indonesian social media in Januari–Maret 2025. The hashtag reflects growing communication dissonance between the government and Generation Z, functioning not as a mere digital joke but as a marker of disappointment, alienation, and declining trust in state narratives. The research aims to interpret the symbolic messages embedded in the hashtag, identify the forms of dissonance shaping government–youth communication, and explain their implications for national awareness and public participation. Using a qualitative content-analysis approach, the study examines posts on Twitter/X, TikTok, and Instagram, alongside online news reports and public statements from influential figures. The findings show that Generation Z often feels disconnected from the state because government communication remains formal, top-down, and insufficiently participatory. Messages that fail to align with youth experiences widen emotional and ideological distance, producing apathy, digital satire, and a symbolic desire to “escape.” The study contributes to public communication scholarship by demonstrating how viral digital expressions can signal deeper generational fractures. It recommends that the government adopt more dialogical, inclusive, and culturally adaptive communication strategies to rebuild trust and strengthen civic engagement.
